Hornby train set

Well here I’am walking down a street of antique stalls again. I arrive at a stall displaying a O Gauge post war Hornby Type 40 loco. I have one of these in black at home from my childhood, these can be in black, red or dark green.

There was a guy in front of me looking at it and seeing my interest started describing to me it’s history. I hadn’t seen how much it cost before he showed me the price label on the side of the train. I liked all of these; The whole collection, train rails and buildings came to £278. I talk to the stall owner and offer him £68, he says no!

The train was not the usual colour, it was a very pale light green with gold lines on it. The railway tracks were very narrow gauge and not the normal expected track size for this time peorid. There was also a model garage that was part of the collection.

The next thing I recall was meeting new people and having dinner in a restaurant.

Here’s a picture to give you and idea, but of course the remember the colours in my dream. In fairly good condition it’s worth £55
